Having started football in Brazil’s Atletico Mineiro club’s academy, Lincoln was immediately called to the First Team thanks to his discipline and incredible technique. He became professional at the age of 18.

After five years, he moved to Europe and Europe’s one of the most disciplined leagues Bundesliga which is not an easy place to survive for any Brazilian. He played for Kaiserslautern between 2001-2004, scored 12 goals in 53 matches. Using both legs comfortably and having tough and pointed free-kicks he was celebrated by many people.

His next stop was Schalke 04. They won the 2004-2005 German League Cup. At the same time he contributed to Schalke’s second position in the league with with 12 goals in 28 matches. He was chosen “The football player of the year” in Bundesliga. In three seasons at Schalke he played a total of 83 matches and scored 20 goals. He was regarded Germany’s one of the best playmakers. Just before the 2007-2008 season he signed with Galatasaray and came to Turkey.
